It has recently been brought to our attention that a certain flea and tick collar could be the cause of numerous side effects, some of them severe, in dogs. The flea and tick collar affected is the Bayer Seresto collar. An article was published this morning in USA Today regarding these side effects. Unfortunately, as discussed in the article, information regarding these side effects is typically not made available to the public, including veterinarians, which is why this product continues to be recommended throughout the veterinary community.
Therefore, until we have received more information regarding the safety and potential side effects of this flea and tick collar, we do not recommend the use of it in any of our patients. We will include the article here in the email for your review.
